... take heed to thyself and to doctrine: be earnest in them. For in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee ... (1 Timothy 4:16)

Thank you

In the 36 or so hours since I announced that I have resigned as the vicar of St Mary-the-Virgin, Kenton, in order to be received into the Catholic Church, I have received both as blog comments and by other routes a humbling number of messages of welcome and congratulation, for which I and my family are immensely grateful and by which we are immensely encouraged.

We place our trust in the Lord and ask your continued prayers for ourselves and the Anglican parish that we are leaving, and for those who are taking a similar journey at this time.

I would particularly ask your prayers for the family of the Rev’d Robin Farrow, who announced his resignation on the same day that I did, and whose wife writes about their particular circumstances on her blog, which by God’s Grace is also a Pro-Life witness.

Thank you.

  1. You are most welcome Father Giles. May God bless your wife and your children while you are leading your flock to God's own fold.

    Once again, welcome Home!

  2. Father Giles, Many Years and Blessings to You and your family.
Question: Is the picture posted on some websites the only one there is?
Looks like a 'mugshot' hanging on a post office wall.

    Just wondering.

  5. This is very sad and discouraging for a young priest who intends to stay and fight in the church of England for the catholic faith as he has recieved it. But i do understand and give you my blessing.

Please prasy for us who find the ebbing away of our friends disheartening

  6. I have caught up with this news only by accident and now! My very best wishes to you and your family as you take this step. The events of this weekend must inspire you and I'm sure you know that you will be welcome. I hope and pray that you will experience as much joy in your new spiritual home as I have. (I was received in 1994.)
